This role sits in Trip.com Group's International Government Affairs team, based in Berlin, reporting to the Head of EU Government Affairs. The role leads our development in Germany, contributes to EU-level policy campaigns, and is the contact point for our Eastern Europe activities.
In this Role, you’ll get to
- Monitor national and European policy, regulatory change, legal frameworks and government initiatives that could impact the business, evaluating them and providing actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
- Develop external engagement with political stakeholders across rail, air and road transportation, tourism, accommodations and digital platform regulation.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with institutions, regulators and key opinion leaders to grow our reputation and position us as a thought and knowledge partner.
- Engage in industry coalitions and initiatives to drive our policy agenda in Germany, across Eastern Europe and at EU level.
- Represent the company in policy discussions, advocacy efforts and events.
- Act as the go-to person on critical government relations issues, managing them swiftly to protect the company's interests.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Legal and Product on compliance-related projects.
What you'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Business or similar.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in government relations and/or public policy, preferably in the online travel tech sector.
- Strong track record of working with industry coalitions, regulators and policymakers; comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Top-tier communication and negotiation skills, confident advising internal senior leadership.
- Thrives cross-culturally, comfortable with ambiguity, adept in matrix structures.
- Strong ownership, a natural collaborator, comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent German, both written and spoken, is required for this role.
