Role Overview
The General Ledger Manager will be responsible for overseeing the General Ledger function, ensuring accurate financial records, timely month-end closing, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role will work closely with the Finance Director and other finance teams to ensure reliable financial reporting and strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the General Ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Monitor balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and other Finance functions.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide required financial information.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal finance procedures.
- Lead, support, and develop the General Ledger team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8–15 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience in a General Ledger or financial accounting management role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Professional accounting certification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA is preferred.
- Experience in real estate, hospitality, property management, or a similar industry is an advantage.
