Role Description The General Accountant ERP role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting operations within the company’s ERP system, including recording journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate posting of financial transactions. The accountant will prepare and reconcile accounts, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring invoices and payments, coordinating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The role also involves generating ERP-based financial reports, participating in audits, and recommending improvements to accounting processes and system workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar) for day-to-day accounting tasks.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and accounting software, with solid data entry and accuracy skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide clear, concise explanations and recommendations.
- Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of local taxation and regulatory requirements in Egypt is an advantage.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA, or equivalent) are considered a plus.
