- Design and develop fire protection and firefighting systems, including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, and suppression systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pump sizing, and system calculations in accordance with applicable codes and project requirements.
- Prepare and review design drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and material take-offs (MTOs).
- Review project specifications, tender documents, and client requirements to develop technically compliant solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant NFPA standards, local codes, and client/authority requirements.
- Prepare technical submittals, material selections, and design documentation.
- Coordinate fire protection designs with Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, and other disciplines.
- Support the estimation and proposal teams with technical inputs and quantities when required.
- Respond to consultant/client comments and revise designs accordingly.
- Provide technical support during project execution, testing, commissioning, and handover when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection/Firefighting design.
- Strong hands-on experience in designing sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, and fire suppression systems.
- Strong knowledge of relevant NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and NFPA 20.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic calculations and system sizing.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant hydraulic calculation/design software.
- Experience preparing BOQs, MTOs, technical submittals, and shop/design drawings.
- Good understanding of local fire protection codes and authority requirements.
- Strong technical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
