Role Purpose
The Financial Controller will take ownership of the integrity, accuracy and
timeliness of the financial
reporting and control environment. The role is responsible for consolidated financial
statements, long-term project
accounting, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tender costing,
working-capital and cash-flow
reporting, statutory and external reporting, audit coordination, regulatory compliance
and the development of
robust financial controls across the parent company and its subsidiaries.
Skills
Key Responsibilities:
• consolidation and financial statements: Lead the preparation and review of consolidated and
entity-level financial statements, including statement of financial position, profit and loss, cash flows, changes in
equity, notes and supporting schedules. Perform and review intercompany reconciliations, eliminations,
related-party balances and consolidation adjustments.
• Long-term project and contract accounting: Ensure appropriate accounting for long-term projects and
contracts in accordance with applicable IFRS, with particular attention to IFRS 15 revenue recognition, contract
assets and liabilities, progress measurement, variations and claims, retention, advances, provisions, expected
losses, WIP and project profitability.
• Management reporting: Establish a disciplined monthly closing and management-reporting cycle. Produce
clear consolidated and company-level reporting for senior management, including actual results, KPIs, project
profitability, order backlog where applicable, balance-sheet analysis and explanations of material movements.
• Budgeting and annual / rolling forecasting: Lead the annual budget process and maintain rolling forecasts.
Analyze actual performance against budget and forecast, identify material variances and work with operating
management to determine causes and corrective actions.
• Tender pricing and project costing: Support and challenge tender pricing through detailed cost build-ups
covering direct costs, labor, materials, subcontractors, overhead allocation, contingencies, financing
requirements, margins and cash-flow implications. Monitor awarded projects against tender assumptions and
report cost or margin deterioration promptly.
• Cash flow and working capital: Prepare short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts and monitor receivables,
payables, retention, advances, inventory/WIP where relevant, guarantees, banking exposure and other
working-capital drivers.
• External reporting and audit: Coordinate the annual external audit and interim reviews. Ensure audit
schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation are complete, accurate and delivered on time. Act as a principal finance contact with external auditors.
