Position Overview: - Finance Graduate Trainee
Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Graduate Trainee to join our ESAB Middle East team. This role will support the Finance function across key accounting and financial activities, including accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting, internal controls, audit and compliance, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Finance team and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial processes, reporting, controls, and analysis across the business and support financial decision-making through reliable management information and reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities: -
The Finance Graduate Trainee will:
- Manage Accounts Payable activities, including supplier invoices, three-way matching in Infor M3, vendor reconciliations, and resolution of accounting queries.
- Support month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, General Ledger activities, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, financial reports, and supporting schedules, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, KPIs, and variance analysis.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash flow reporting, working with Finance and business teams to monitor performance, liquidity, and working capital.
- Support inventory accounting and costing activities, including standard costs, inventory valuation, PPV analysis, and accurate BOMs and routings in coordination with Operations and Supply Chain.
- Support regional internal controls and SOX activities, including control documentation, compliance, remediation actions, and follow-up on audit recommendations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support statutory reporting by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation.
- Partner with business functions to provide financial analysis and insights, resolve accounting and reporting issues, and identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls, reporting, and ERP efficiency.
Qualifications (Include education, experience, technical, travel and language requirements)
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent, or progress toward one, would be an advantage.
Experience / Technical Requirements
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance, with exposure to Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Management Accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing.
- Experience with reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Good understanding of cash flow, working capital, inventory accounting, standard costing, and financial planning.
- Experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of Infor M3 is an advantage.
- Understanding of internal controls, SOX requirements, audit processes, VAT, statutory reporting, and accounting compliance.
- Experience in a multinational, industrial, or manufacturing environment would be an advantage, particularly exposure to BOMs, routings, standard costs, inventory costing, and PPV.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance and other business functions.
