Role Description The FDIs Development Director is a full-time, on-site role based in New Cairo, responsible for developing and securing foreign direct investments to support SOLARSOL EG’s growth and solar projects. This role includes identifying and cultivating relationships with international investors, donors, and funding partners aligned with the company’s strategic priorities. The FDIs Development Director will design and execute fundraising strategies, prepare investment proposals and presentations, and lead negotiations to secure capital. Daily activities involve coordinating with finance and operations teams on budgeting and project feasibility, monitoring investment performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role also includes reporting on fundraising outcomes, representing SOLARSOL EG at events and investor meetings, and contributing to long-term financial planning for regional and international expansion.
Qualifications
- * Demonstrated experience in fundraising and philanthropy, including developing and managing relationships with international investors, donors, and funding institutions.
- Proficiency in planned giving and annual giving strategies to build sustainable, long-term funding pipelines for projects and organizational growth.
- Strong budgeting and financial planning skills, with the ability to assess project viability, manage investment portfolios, and align funding with strategic goals.
- Proven track record in securing foreign direct investments or similar development finance for infrastructure or renewable energy projects is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, International Relations, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of renewable energy markets, particularly solar energy, and familiarity with regional investment regulations and frameworks.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic or other relevant languages is a plus.
