About the Role
GAL is seeking an experienced F-16 Crew Chiefs to join our aviation maintenance team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of aircraft maintenance activities, providing technical leadership to maintenance personnel, and ensuring F-16 aircraft are maintained to the required airworthiness, safety, and operational standards.
This role is suited to an experienced F-16 maintenance professional with strong flight-line and/or phase maintenance experience and a proven ability to lead maintenance activities in a military aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Crew Chief for assigned F-16 aircraft, ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with approved technical publications, maintenance procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Lead and coordinate daily aircraft maintenance activities, including scheduled, unscheduled, and corrective maintenance.
- Conduct and oversee aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting, defect rectification, and functional checks.
- Perform and supervise flight-line and phase maintenance activities as assigned.
- Review aircraft discrepancies and coordinate troubleshooting and corrective actions with the relevant maintenance specialists.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed accurately, safely, and within required timelines.
- Coordinate with Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, Engine, Armament, Quality, Operations, and other support teams as required.
- Review and verify maintenance documentation, aircraft forms, work orders, and technical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure strict compliance with technical orders, maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and applicable aviation regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to aircraft technicians and junior maintenance personnel.
- Monitor aircraft status and provide accurate maintenance updates to supervisors and management.
- Support aircraft launch and recovery operations and ensure aircraft are properly prepared for scheduled missions.
- Identify potential maintenance issues and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive actions.
- Ensure proper use, accountability, and serviceability of tools, equipment, and ground support equipment.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and immediately report hazards, incidents, or maintenance discrepancies.
- Perform other duties related to F-16 aircraft maintenance as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or aviation maintenance qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 6–8 years of F-16 aircraft maintenance experience, preferably in a military aviation environment.
- Previous experience as an F-16 Crew Chief or equivalent aircraft maintenance leadership role is highly desirable.
- Strong hands-on experience in flight-line and/or phase maintenance.
- Experience with F-16 aircraft inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and defect rectification.
- Knowledge of F-16 maintenance procedures, technical publications, and aircraft maintenance documentation.
- Previous experience working with military aviation maintenance organizations or Air Force environments is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical manuals, maintenance instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety, maintenance practices, and human factors.
