NNC is looking for an English Copywriter – Social & Creative who can turn strategy, culture and human insight into words people actually want to read, watch, remember and share.
We are looking for someone who understands that great copy is not simply grammatically correct—it has an idea behind it.
Someone who can understand a brief, find the human truth within it, build the story and turn it into work that feels relevant to the platform, audience and brand.
You will work closely with Art Directors, designers, strategists, social teams, production and account management across social media, campaigns, films, events and integrated creative work.
You will also use AI for research, exploration and refinement—without allowing it to replace originality, judgment or craft.
What You'll DoCreative Copywriting
- * Develop original concepts, campaign ideas, headlines, taglines and messaging.
- Write captions, scripts, short-form video copy, digital ads and campaign content.
- Turn strategic briefs into clear, relevant and memorable creative ideas.
- Explore multiple creative directions rather than settling for the first acceptable answer.
- Write copy that works with the visual idea instead of explaining it.
- Adapt tone, structure and length to different audiences and platforms.
Insight-Led Creative Thinking Understand that strong campaigns begin with a human, cultural, behavioral or brand insight, not simply a reference or trend.
* Distinguish between an insight, observation, idea, execution and reference.
* Research audience behaviors, tensions and motivations before developing concepts.
* Turn meaningful insights into creative territories and campaign ideas.
* Challenge work that looks attractive but lacks strategic relevance.
* Use references to sharpen execution—not replace original thinking.
* Explain the connection between insight → idea → execution*.
Storytelling, Hooks & Retention Build strong social story arcs, not just attention-grabbing opening lines.
* Develop hooks that emerge naturally from the idea and audience rather than relying on formulas.
* Structure short-form stories with progression, tension, curiosity and payoff.
* Write with hold rate, watch time and retention* in mind.
* Understand what to reveal immediately, what to delay and how to create curiosity without misleading people.
* Ensure the ending delivers on the promise made by the opening.
* Work with Art Directors, editors and social teams so writing, visuals and pacing reinforce one another.
Social-First Writing
- * Understand how writing changes across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, X, LinkedIn and emerging platforms.
- Write platform-native hooks, captions and scripts.
- Understand pacing and narrative structure in short-form video.
- Know when an idea needs one sentence and when it deserves a longer story.
- Understand internet culture, creators and emerging content behaviors.
- Participate in trends when they are relevant to the brand—not simply because they are trending.
Performance & Creative Optimization Understand metrics including hold rate, retention, average watch time, completion rate, engagement, shares, saves, clicks and reach*.
* Use performance data to improve future copy and scripts.
* Analyse audience drop-off and identify weaknesses in hooks, pacing or narrative structure.
* Compare performance across different formats, topics and storytelling approaches.
* Develop hypotheses and test improvements through future content.
* Understand that high views alone do not necessarily mean strong performance.
* Balance creative instinct with evidence.
Live Events & Real-Time Coverage
- * Write fast, accurate and on-brand content during events, conferences, launches and activations.
- Turn speeches, quotes, announcements and live moments into concise social content.
- Adapt quickly when schedules, speakers or event moments change.
- Work closely with social, production and account teams on-site.
- Identify which moments are genuinely worth publishing.
- Maintain quality under pressure.
- Prioritise speed without compromising names, titles, quotes or factual accuracy.
Scripts & Brand Voice
- * Write scripts for Reels, TikTok, films, interviews and voiceovers.
- Understand structure, pacing, hooks and payoff.
- Write dialogue that sounds natural when spoken.
- Learn and protect the tone of voice of multiple brands.
- Shift confidently between government, cultural, youth, corporate, premium and consumer brands.
- Maintain consistency without making every piece of content sound the same.
- Help develop tone-of-voice and messaging systems where required.
Regional & Cultural Relevance
- * Understand that English communication for UAE and GCC audiences is not always the same as communication written for Western markets.
- Write naturally for multicultural and regional audiences.
- Understand cultural sensitivities, communication styles and relevant regional context.
- Collaborate closely with Arabic copywriters to ensure both languages communicate the same idea naturally.
- Avoid forcing English idioms, references or cultural assumptions that do not travel well.
Research, Accuracy & Quality
- * Research subjects properly before writing.
- Understand the client, audience and communication objective.
- Verify names, dates, numbers, quotations and factual claims.
- Use credible sources.
- Edit and proofread your own work critically.
- Remove unnecessary words, clichés and generic corporate language.
- Never sacrifice accuracy for a clever line.
AI & Emerging Technology Use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or comparable platforms* for research, idea exploration, synthesis and refinement.
* Write effective prompts with clear context, objectives, audience and constraints.
* Iterate rather than accepting first outputs.
* Recognise generic, predictable or off-brand AI writing.
* Rewrite AI outputs until they meet professional creative standards.
* Verify factual information independently.
* Protect client confidentiality.
* Know when AI adds value—and when writing from scratch is the better creative decision.
AI can accelerate exploration. It cannot replace originality, taste or judgment.
