Who We Are üåçCreating content that resonates is great ‚Äî turning that attention into growth is even better. That's what Manychat does.
Our AI-powered automations help creators and brands engage with audiences across Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and TikTok — at the right moment, with the right message, minus the manual work.
We're 400+ people across three continents behind the leading platform for conversational growth, with AI skills shaping how we build, how we work, and how we grow.
Who We‚Äôre Looking For üåüHave you built billing or payments systems at a SaaS company and know exactly which patterns work at scale, and which ones fall apart?
Then keep reading, because this role hands you a domain most companies guard closely: the systems that move all of Manychat’s revenue.
Billing at Manychat is becoming the foundation for everything we launch next. New products, new ventures, new pricing models: all of it runs through the platform your team will own. We’re not asking you to invent something new. We’re asking you to bring the proven standards of the payments industry into a business that is growing fast and needs its revenue core to be rock solid.
You’ll join at the right moment. We’re deliberately shifting our engineering culture towards scalability and stability, and billing is at the center of that shift. You won’t inherit a finished machine; you’ll shape one, with clear backing from engineering leadership to do it.
If you know payments and processing inside out, enjoy leading engineers through meaty technical territory, and want your fingerprints on how a whole domain is structured and scaled, let’s talk.
YOUR FUTURE TEAMMATES üëãWe keep Manychat running smoothly under high load every single day and make sure it‚Äôs ready to scale even further. We do it by combining strong engineering foundations with AI tools that let us move faster without cutting corners. And we‚Äôre the ones who shape and own what gets built. AI accelerates. Humans own the thinking.
WHY YOU‚ÄôLL LIKE IT HERE ü§©You‚Äôll work on complex, high-scale projects that create real impact, building products millions rely on every day. The tech stack is designed for speed and durability, and we are already operating at the front of the AI era, not scrambling to catch up. And you‚Äôll do all of that alongside an experienced, collaborative team that values speed, quality, and supporting each other.
What You‚Äôll Do üöÄ
- * Own the billing and accounts domain end to end: processing, billing, and pricing for a platform serving creators in 170+ countries
- Lead and grow a team of 5-6 billing engineers, with a clear path to scaling the team and structuring it around processing, billing, and pricing as the domain expands
- Deliver the billing roadmap through the end of the year, including completing a major migration of our pricing model
- Bring proven payments industry patterns and standards into Manychat, and raise the bar on how billing is designed, built, and operated
- Guide architectural decisions with your engineers: challenge designs, pinpoint risks, and keep proposals grounded in what actually works at scale
- Partner closely with our Product Director for Billing on making billing more scalable, and with Finance on tax and compliance initiatives
- Build transparency and healthy engineering practices in the team: clear ownership, visible progress, honest signals
- Prepare the domain to support new products and ventures that will build on billing and account capabilities
- Hire, develop, and coach engineers, and make the hard people calls when they’re needed
What Success Looks Like üéØ
- * First 3 months: you know the team, the systems, and the stakeholders. The roadmap is moving, and you have a clear-eyed view of the team’s strengths and gaps.
- By end of year: the pricing model migration is completed, the team’s work is transparent and predictable, and stakeholders in Product and Finance see you as their go-to partner.
- Beyond: you’ve shaped the scaling plan for the domain, tackled the technical debt the team never had capacity for, and billing is a platform other teams build on with confidence.
TO SHINE IN THIS ROLE üí•You‚Äôll Need
- * Hands-on experience building and running billing, payments, or processing systems: subscriptions, pricing models, payment providers, invoicing, the whole territory
- That experience gained at a SaaS or self-serve product company of comparable scale, where customers sign up and pay without a sales rep holding their hand
- A solid engineering background: you no longer write production code day to day, but you speak the language fluently, review architecture with credibility, and spot a bad design before it ships
- Real people management mileage: you’ve hired, you’ve coached, you’ve handled underperformance, and you’ve made the difficult call to part ways with someone and done it with respect
- The ability to build relationships fast, with your team, with product and finance stakeholders, and with peers across engineering
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment while pulling it towards more structure, stability, and maturity, not less
It Would Be Great If You Have
- * Experience with tax, compliance, or revenue recognition topics in a SaaS context
- Experience restructuring or scaling a team: splitting into sub-teams, defining ownership, growing leads
- Been through a major platform or pricing migration and lived to tell the tale
We’re tech-stack agnostic for this role. Our billing runs on PHP today, but whether your background is PHP, Python, Kotlin, or anything else, what matters is your domain knowledge and technical judgment.
What We Offer ü§óWe care deeply about your growth, well-being, and comfort:
- üåç Hybrid onboarding to start work remotely and relocation support for you and your family.
- üíô Comprehensive health insurance for both you and your family.
- üìö Professional development budget for conference tickets, online courses, and other relevant resources to help you grow.

- ü™¥ Hybrid work and generous, flexible time off ‚Äî planned with your team, not rationed by a rigid quota.
- üåé Work from where you need to ‚Äî agreed with your team, not tied to a desk. Flexibility we built in on purpose, because location shouldn‚Äôt get in the way of great work.
- üçΩ In-office perks, including free meals and snacks.
- ü§ù Company-funded sport activities, annual offsites and team-building events.
- ü§ñ AI isn‚Äôt a perk here ‚Äî it‚Äôs how we work. Claude, OpenAI, and more are on by default from day one, and we back teams in adopting whatever makes them faster.
