About the role:
Seeking an experienced design engineer with at least 2 years of progressive, successful experience to prepare detailed working diagrams of escalator/elevator projects, including dimensions and other engineering information, in order to effectively implement projects within the design standards, policies, and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for escalator/elevator projects, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) applications, and provide instructions and comments on drawings.
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component installations and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials
- Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce installation/maintenance problems.
- Print the documents & drawings and file them for easy retrieval & access.
- Maintain an archived database of all work conducted.
- Lay out, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of escalators and elevators.
- Read layout manuals, duty cables, etc., and prepare all layout drawings and other inter-office drawing requirements.
- Provide technical support to sales and installation and maintain elevator and escalator drawings.
- Coordinate with and consult other engineers/workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
- Follow all relevant Engineering Department's policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, taking into account leading practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
- Promote the implementation and adherence to policies, processes, and operating procedures to others within Mitsubishi.
Skills:
- The ideal applicant must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- CAD certification is a must; REVIT and other design certifications are an added value.
- Must be computer literate with a good understanding of MS Office.
- Fluent in English.
