Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Dental Assistant role based in Burgaw, NC. The Dental Assistant will support pediatric dental providers during examinations and procedures, prepare and organize treatment rooms, and assist with chairside duties including passing instruments and managing patient comfort. Responsibilities include taking and processing dental radiographs as permitted, maintaining proper sterilization and infection control protocols, and organizing dental supplies and equipment. The role also involves documenting patient information, providing age-appropriate oral hygiene instructions, and helping keep the schedule running smoothly by coordinating patients and supporting front-office staff as needed. The Dental Assistant will interact regularly with children and their families, contributing to a positive, reassuring experience for every visit.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Dental Care, Oral Care, and Dentistry to support pediatric dental procedures and patient education.
- Candidates should possess skills in Dental Assisting to provide efficient chairside support, prepare treatment rooms, and assist with routine pediatric dental visits.
- Candidates should possess skills in Sterilization and infection control to ensure safe handling of instruments, equipment, and clinical environments.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred.
- Current state-specific dental assisting certification, radiology certification, and CPR/BLS certification are beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary dental team.
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, pay close attention to detail, and manage multiple tasks in a busy pediatric practice.
