As part of its global expansion, Pay10 has established a new regional office in Morocco, which is preparing to launch its payment activities in full compliance with Bank Al-Maghrib’s regulations. Pay10 Morocco will introduce innovative and seamless payment solutions for consumers, agents, and merchants, combining the group’s international expertise with Morocco’s dynamic and expanding financial ecosystem.
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on expertise in MySQL and MongoDB to join our technology team. The DBA will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, monitoring, and optimizing databases that power our mission-critical FinTech applications hosted on on-premises servers .
The role requires deep technical knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL systems, high-availability architectures, performance tuning, and compliance with financial industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Database Engineering & Operations (Primary)
- Hybrid RDBMS & NoSQL Management: Architecture, deployment, and maintenance of high-availability MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) environments.
- Scale & Performance: Implement and manage advanced replication, sharding, and clustering strategies to ensure 99.99% uptime for fintech applications.
- Optimization: Proactively perform query optimization, schema tuning, and indexing strategies for both transactional and analytical workloads.
- Data Integrity: Design and execute rigorous backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) protocols, ensuring strict adherence to RPO/RTO targets.
DevOps & Automation (Secondary/Integrated)
- Infrastructure as Code: Automate database provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- CI/CD Integration: Support the DevOps team in streamlining application deployment pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) involving database schema changes.
- Monitoring & Observability: Build and maintain comprehensive dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, and Percona Monitoring to ensure full-stack visibility.
- Security & Compliance: Align database security with global standards (PCI-DSS, SOC), managing encryption at rest/transit and fine-grained access control.
Technical Requirements
- Databases: Deep expertise in MySQL. Strong proficiency in NoSQL concepts (document, key-value, or column-family); specific experience with MongoDB is highly preferred, but candidates with heavy experience in other NoSQL systems (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis) and a willingness to adapt are encouraged to apply.
- DevOps Toolkit: Hands-on experience with Linux administration, Docker, and automation scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).
- Cloud & On-Prem: Experience managing databases in hybrid environments (AWS/On-premises).
- FinTech Experience: Prior experience in a regulated financial services or payment gateway environment is a significant plus.
