Role Description The Cuisinier is a full-time, on-site culinary role based in Marrakesh-Safi, Morocco. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to hotel standards and recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include organizing the workstation, managing ingredients, following food safety and hygiene procedures, and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service. The Cuisinier participates in menu execution, assists with inventory and stock rotation, and supports the Head Chef in maintaining an efficient kitchen operation. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues to adapt to guest preferences and seasonal products while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly kitchen environment.
Qualifications
- Professional training or certification in culinary arts, gastronomy, or a related field.
- Experience working as a cook or Cuisinier in hotel, restaurant, or similar professional kitchen settings.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP or similar regulations.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards with attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a multicultural team and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Basic language skills in French or English; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
