Job Summary
This is a senior client-facing leadership role, responsible for managing a large and diverse portfolio of corporate tax engagements. The Manager – Corporate Tax will oversee complex tax compliance and advisory projects, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and drive value-added solutions for clients. The role involves leading client relationships, managing multidisciplinary teams, developing business opportunities, and playing an active part in positioning KPMG as a market leader in Oman.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead, manage, and review complex corporate tax compliance and advisory engagements for local and international clients.
• Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice, including on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and cross-border transactions.
• Act as a primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders and tax authorities, managing high-level discussions and audit defense strategies.
• Review and sign off on technical deliverables including tax reports, memos, and advisory documentation.
• Anticipate and advise clients on the impact of regulatory changes in Oman and globally (e.g., OECD, BEPS).
• Ensure high-quality client service delivery in line with KPMG’s risk management and compliance standards.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant Managers and junior staff, providing coaching, feedback, and structured career development.
• Contribute to thought leadership, represent the firm in professional forums, and actively monitor market developments.
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and contributing to client pitches.
• Drive efficiency in tax processes and promote the use of technology and automation tools.
Qualifications
Education requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, ACCA, CTA, ACA or equivalent certification is mandatory.
Work experience requirements:
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in corporate tax advisory and compliance.
• At least 3 years in a managerial or assistant managerial role within a Big Four or multinational consultancy environment.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale client portfolios and complex tax engagements.
Knowledge / Technical Skills:
• Strong expertise in local and international tax laws, OECD guidelines, BEPS framework, and transfer pricing.
• In-depth knowledge of GCC/Oman tax regulations (Saudi Tax and Zakat Law knowledge is a plus).
• Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, tax accounting, and drafting complex tax opinions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP systems or tax automation tools (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is an advantage.
