DescriptionAbout the roleThe “Contracts Specialist” is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of Retail and Hospitality contracts, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering agreements in line with Qatar Airways standard requirements and policies. The role requires a broad understanding of legal fundamentals to ensure contractual compliance, effective risk management, and timely execution of agreements while liaising with internal stakeholders to support operational and commercial objectives.
- Manage and administer contracts from initiation through execution, ensuring alignment with approved templates, legal requirements, commercial objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers and business partners.
- Liaise with the QR Legal stakeholders to ensure agreements are in line with applicable laws and QR requirements.
- Suggest and implement new ways to improve the entire contractual process and governance supporting the Retail and Hospitality management contractual framework.
- Liaise all QR teams, such as purchasing, finance, insurance, data protection, legal, etc., and take necessary action to discuss and resolve concerns in matters related to such.
- Identify contractual and legal breaches/gaps and take suitable action in order to resolve such issues.
- Coordinate and obtain internal approvals and documentation to ensure contracts are executed in a valid form and within the required timelines.
- Improve quality of contracts to the benefit of the company by understanding and modifying certain contractual terms and ensuring an "all covered" work product.
- Support commercial team in re-negotiations (where required) per global practice and ensure that Retail and Hospitality enters into a continuous, productive, and cost-effective business.
- Manage contract approvals/renewals in line with the approval hierarchy set by the company and provide professional advice on delegation of authority matrixes.
- Research legislation and regulations to ensure contracts are current and in compliance; possess knowledge of legal requirements, rules, regulations, and procedures for setting up various types of entities like joint ventures and other legal mergers.
- Ensure that QR Group's interests are protected during the contract drafting, negotiation, and finalization process, and highlight risks (if any) for management decision-making.
- Maintain integrity and transparency and act professionally when providing counsel and support to stakeholders.
- Develop strong supplier relationships with key global providers, ensuring that suppliers deliver as per their contractual obligations with a focus on long-term supplier relationships and performance management.
- Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualification
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Bachelor of Law - LLB.
- Relevant contractual or legal experience.
- Supply-chain and procurement experience
- Experience in handling contracts - contracts management or relevant organizational experience in dealing with contracts and supplier Management.
- Commercial or Operational experience within the retail and hospitality industry.
- Degree in law or procurement or relevant field.
- Retail operational experience.
- Excellent command of English language.
- Good communication skills.
- Analytical thinking.
- Decision making and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of contract documents.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
