We're looking for a detail-oriented, data-driven Commercial Strategy & Performance Analyst to serve as the analytical backbone of our local account team's performance function. Working closely with the Business Performance Manager, you will own the data infrastructure, reporting engines, and analytical deep-dives that power target setting, performance tracking, and bonus calculations — increasingly leveraging AI to make the function faster, smarter, and more scalable.
You will sit at the intersection of data analytics, commercial operations, and AI enablement, ensuring the performance engine runs accurately, efficiently, and at scale.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain the reporting infrastructure: own daily/weekly/monthly dashboards and recurring performance reports covering GMV, account growth, retention, and revenue for the local account portfolio.
- Execute bonus cycle operations: run commission and bonus calculations, validate data inputs, resolve discrepancies, and support payout timelines end to end.
- Own KPI tracking and data quality: ensure scorecards, dashboards, and performance data are accurate, timely, and consistently defined across markets and teams.
- Conduct deep-dive business analysis: account-level diagnostics, trend analysis, and root-cause investigations (e.g., why a portfolio under/over-performs) to support the Manager's recommendations.
- Champion AI-powered analytics: use LLM-based tools and AI agents to accelerate analysis — auto-generating performance summaries, narrative insights, and first-draft business reviews from underlying data.
- Build AI-enabled self-serve tools: develop copilots, chat-based data query interfaces, or automated insight alerts so account managers can get answers without waiting on analyst bandwidth.
- Automate and scale: identify manual reporting and analysis processes and automate them — using scripts, AI workflows, or pipeline improvements — freeing the team to focus on insight rather than data pulls.
- Support target setting and forecasting: build data models, machine learning–based forecasts, and scenario analyses to inform quarterly/annual goal calibration for the account team.
- Enable account managers: provide self-serve tools, training, and ad-hoc analytical support so AMs can answer routine performance questions independently.
- Partner with Data, Finance, and Sales Ops to improve data pipelines, align definitions, and resolve cross-functional data issues.
What We Need From You
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, commercial analytics, sales operations, or a similar data-focused role in e-commerce, food delivery, or internet platforms.
- Advanced SQL skills — comfortable writing complex queries, joins, and aggregations across large multi-source datasets.
- Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets and hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar), including dashboard building.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools in a business context: prompt engineering for analysis, LLM-assisted reporting, or building AI-agent workflows (e.g., ChatGPT/Claude, Copilot, or similar enterprise AI tools).
- Experience with performance reporting for commercial teams — sales or account management KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with numbers that matter (bonus/commission calculations, target tracking).
- Ability to work independently on analytical projects while supporting a senior leader's strategic agenda.
- Structured problem-solving: can take a fuzzy business question and turn it into a clear analytical plan and answer.
- Clear communication — comfortable presenting findings to commercial stakeholders and simplifying complexity for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Python/R, forecasting, or machine learning is a plus.
What Makes This Role Exciting
- Be the analytical engine behind a high-impact performance function — your data, models, and AI tools directly drive decisions on targets, incentives, and team strategy.
- Experiment at the frontier: bring AI-native ways of working to a commercial function that's still early in its AI journey — you'll define how it's done, not just follow a playbook.
- Wide exposure across the business: account management, finance, data, and leadership — a strong launchpad for growth into senior performance or strategy roles.
- Own real processes end to end, from dashboard design to bonus calculation, in a fast-scaling environment.
