We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Operations Engineer to design, implement, operate and continuously improve critical cloud data, storage and platform capabilities across a secure and highly regulated environment.
The role combines hands-on cloud operations, Snowflake administration, AWS platform management, disaster recovery, Linux operations, CI/CD, data governance and operational resilience. You will take ownership of both implementation and day-to-day platform operations, ensuring services remain secure, resilient, cost-effective and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and operate AWS cloud storage and data platform services with strong focus on security, access control, lifecycle management, resilience and cost optimisation.
- Administer and support Snowflake environments, ensuring platform stability, security, performance and operational readiness.
- Design and maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity capabilities, including RTO/RPO requirements, backup and replication strategies, restore validation, DR runbooks and test execution.
- Own operational support for Linux-based platforms, including secure administration, troubleshooting and operational tuning.
- Manage agreed platform tooling, including GitHub administration and CI/CD operational controls.
- Support secure enablement and operational governance of AWS Bedrock and other AI platform capabilities.
- Support data classification, retention and secure destruction requirements, including audit evidence and compliance activities.
- Assist with DLP platform operations, including policy tuning, alert triage and workflow integration.
- Design and maintain clear data-flow architecture documentation, covering public endpoints, application services, private networking and databases.
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks, KPIs, access controls and support procedures.
- Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, cost and operational efficiency across the platform environment.
- Work closely with infrastructure and cyber security stakeholders to ensure platform controls remain effective and audit-ready.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive infrastructure and cloud experience, including hands-on operational ownership.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud operations and cloud storage/data services.
- Strong hands-on Snowflake administration experience.
- Current AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate certification.
- Current SnowPro Advanced: Administrator certification.
- Strong Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity experience, including RTO/RPO, restore testing, DR runbooks and DR test execution.
- Strong production Linux administration experience.
- Experience supporting data classification, retention, secure disposal/destruction and audit evidence requirements.
- Hands-on exposure to DLP operations, policy management or alert triage.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, security and private connectivity.
- Ability to document and troubleshoot end-to-end data flows across cloud environments.
- Strong operational discipline around documentation, runbooks, incidents, metrics and continuous improvement.
- Experience working within a regulated, controlled or audit-driven environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Bedrock or AI platform operations.
- Experience administering GitHub organisations/repositories and CI/CD platforms.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP integration components or SAP-connected data flows.
- Experience with ITSM, CMDB, change management and security control evidence.
