*Role Descri*ption The Civas Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm El Maadi, responsible for the aseptic preparation and compounding of intravenous medications within the centralized IV admixture service (CIVAS). Day-to-day tasks include reviewing physician orders for completeness and appropriateness, calculating doses, selecting compatible diluents, and preparing sterile IV admixtures in compliance with hospital policies and relevant regulatory standards. The role involves maintaining accurate records, labeling, and documentation for all compounded products, as well as participating in quality assurance activities such as environmental monitoring and sterility checks. The Civas Pharmacist collaborates with clinical teams to answer medication-related inquiries, provides guidance on IV compatibility and stability, and supports efforts to reduce medication errors and improve patient safety. The pharmacist may also assist in training pharmacy staff and students in IV admixture techniques and safe handling procedures.
Qualifications
* Candidates should possess strong clinical pharmacy knowledge, including pharmacotherapy, IV drug compatibility, dosing calculations, and medication safety principles.
* Candidates should possess skills in aseptic technique, sterile compounding, handling of hazardous and non-hazardous medications, and operation of laminar airflow hoods or cleanroom environments.
* Candidates should possess capabilities in documentation, record-keeping, order verification, and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards related to hospital pharmacy and CIVAS services.
* Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, and to provide clear medication-related guidance.
* Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume, time-sensitive hospital setting.
* Relevant qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution and valid pharmacy licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
* Prior experience in hospital pharmacy, sterile compounding, or CIVAS operations is highly beneficial; additional certifications in clinical pharmacy or sterile compounding are an advantage.
