HLB HAMT is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to lead the firm-wide business development strategy and drive sustainable revenue growth across the UAE and wider GCC.
This senior leadership role will focus on strategic client acquisition, key account development, cross-service growth, market expansion and revenue generation, strengthening HLB HAMT’s position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the firm-wide business development strategy aligned with growth objectives and priority market segments.
- Identify, acquire and grow high-value relationships with European and US multinational companies, family offices, government and government-related entities.
- Build and maintain strong C-suite and board-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, Tax Directors and other key decision-makers.
- Lead complex business development pursuits, including opportunity qualification, proposals, pricing, negotiations and deal closures.
- Drive cross-selling and multi-service opportunities across Audit & Assurance, Tax, Advisory, Accounting, Payroll, HR, Risk, Compliance, Technology and ESG.
- Strengthen strategic account management, CRM discipline, pipeline governance and revenue forecasting.
- Leverage the HLB International network to generate referral opportunities and develop international client relationships.
- Identify new markets, strategic partnerships and opportunities to expand the firm’s service offerings.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Business Development team, strengthening commercial capabilities across Partners and senior management.
- Collaborate with Partners, Service Line Heads, Marketing, Finance and Risk to ensure commercially sound and compliant growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of experience in business development, commercial growth or strategic sales, including significant senior leadership experience.
- Proven track record of acquiring and growing multinational, family office, government or large corporate relationships, with demonstrable revenue results.
- Strong professional services experience in audit, tax, advisory, consulting, legal, banking or a related environment.
- Substantial UAE/GCC experience with an established senior-level business network.
- Strong understanding of professional services sales, pricing, client acquisition, strategic account management and cross-service business development.
- Excellent commercial acumen, leadership, negotiation skills and executive presence.
- Experience with CRM platforms, pipeline management, business intelligence and data-driven growth strategies.
- Strong understanding of the UAE business environment and relevant regulatory considerations.
