Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse oversees daily nursing operations for assigned units, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities typically include coordinating staff assignments, monitoring patient flow, and supporting nurses with clinical decision-making and problem-solving. The role involves communicating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and reinforcing adherence to clinical protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures. The Charge Nurse also participates in performance improvement initiatives, supports staff development through guidance and feedback, and escalates clinical or operational issues as needed to leadership.
Qualifications
* Strong clinical nursing skills, including patient assessment, care planning, and coordination of treatment.
* Leadership and supervisory abilities to manage nursing teams, delegate tasks, and support performance.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
* Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities, patient flow, and unit operations.
* Commitment to quality, patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical guidelines and policies.
* Proficiency in using electronic medical records and basic computer applications for documentation and reporting.
* Valid nursing license and recognized nursing qualification; a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
* Previous experience in a charge nurse or senior staff nurse role, ideally in hospital or acute care settings.
* Ability to work independently in a remote coordination capacity while maintaining accountability and confidentiality.
