Piper Companies is seeking a Capital Project Scheduler to support a major capital construction project within the industrial manufacturing sector. The Capital Project Scheduler will serve as the owner's representative, providing schedule oversight, risk analysis, contractor coordination, and project controls support to ensure successful execution of a $150 million capital project. The Capital Project Scheduler is a long term contract opportunity and requires you to work onsite 5 days per week in Clayton, NC.
Responsibilities of the Capital Project Scheduler:
- Serve as the owner's scheduling representative for a large-scale capital project in execution.
- Maintain and manage the integrated project schedule, incorporating contractor activities, owner responsibilities, key interfaces, and major milestones.
- Review contractor baseline schedules and schedule updates for completeness, logic, sequencing, durations, and milestone alignment.
- Validate reported progress through coordination with project teams and field personnel.
- Analyze critical and near-critical paths, float consumption, milestone movement, and schedule performance.
- Identify schedule risks, dependencies, constraints, and recovery opportunities throughout project execution.
- Coordinate scheduling activities across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup teams.
- Evaluate schedule impacts related to changes, delays, and project risks, providing scenario analysis and recommendations.
- Review contractor recovery plans and monitor mitigation measures to improve schedule performance.
- Support commissioning, startup, staffing, loop checks, equipment readiness, and operational readiness activities.
- Prepare schedule reports, look-ahead schedules, and performance analyses for project leadership.
- Maintain schedule baselines, update documentation, and ensure traceability of schedule changes.
Requirements of the Capital Project Scheduler:
- * 5+ years of project scheduling experience supporting capital construction or industrial projects.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining resource-loaded, detailed Level 4 project schedules.
- Proven ability to analyze schedule risks, dependencies, delays, and recovery strategies.
- Experience coordinating contractors, field personnel, and cross-functional project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling platforms.
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational readiness planning activities preferred.
Compensation for the Project Scheduler:
- * Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000
