We're a small, independent cafe with a growing presence on the festival and food truck scene. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on person to run things. This isn't a big operation with layers of management. It's a small team and a lot of trust is placed in the right person.
What you'll do
In the cafe
- Order stock and deal with suppliers
- Handle daily bookkeeping: cashing up, reconciling the till, recording takings and receipts, filing invoices, and tracking staff hours
- Keep the cafe clean and compliant with food hygiene rules
- Keep staff motivated and happy
- Send the owner a short weekly update on how things are going
Events and growth
- Look after our relationships with current event holders
- Build new relationships with event organisers who could book our venue
- Be the face of the cafe at festivals and food truck events
- Scout new locations and events for the food truck (commission-based)
What we're looking for
- Experience working in a cafe, coffee shop or similar
- Confidence with basic bookkeeping and handling cash accurately
- Someone honest, organised, and happy to work independently
- Outgoing and comfortable building relationships and making new contacts
- A practical, can-do attitude, since in a small cafe everyone does a bit of everything
- Food hygiene certificate (or willingness to get one)
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for events
- Full driving licence
