Business Controller – Finance / Business Controlling & FP&A
Role Purpose
- Own financial analysis and performance management for an assigned business scope.
- Combine FP&A, management reporting, and business partnering responsibilities.
- Work within a complex, international, multi-entity environment.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly management reporting packs.
- Analyze actuals vs. budget and forecast.
- Collect, validate, and consolidate financial data from multiple sources and entities.
- Maintain and improve recurring reports, dashboards, and templates.
- Provide performance commentary and highlight key risks and opportunities.
FP&A
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting/reforecasting activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights.
- Develop and maintain financial models and advanced Excel-based tools.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analyses.
- Review and challenge business cases from a financial perspective.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Operations and support functions such as Accounting, HR, and IT.
- Translate financial data into clear and actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Present financial performance to senior management.
- Provide financial input during regular business review meetings.
Process & Data Quality
- Improve reporting files, controlling templates, and forecasting processes.
- Standardize and document controlling processes.
- Identify and resolve financial data quality issues.
- Work with ERP and BI tools and contribute to their improvement.
Requirements
Experience & Education
- 3+ years of experience in Finance, Controlling, or FP&A.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in an international or multi-entity environment is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong understanding of P&L and management accounting.
- Experience with ERP or BI tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of D365 and/or Power BI is an advantage.
- Strong interest in financial systems, reporting, and process improvement.
Soft Skills
- Fluent in English (B2 minimum).
- Highly autonomous, structured, and detail-oriented.
- Strong ownership and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex financial information for non-finance audiences.
- Comfortable working remotely with international teams.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
