We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our CIB team as a Branch Associate within the Global Trade Solutions Counter. The focus is on delivering a high-quality counter service for trade customers in Oman. You’ll handle customer queries on trade transactions and general service requests and make sure the right documents are accepted, scanned and released in line with procedures. You’ll support customers with information on trade products and encourage the use of self-help services such as HSBCNet and Instant Advice. Day to day success means faster responses, accurate processing, strong document control and issues resolved with the right support from your line manager. You’ll also help identify potential revenue opportunities within existing relationships through cross-selling opportunities. The work operates in a regulated environment with a strong emphasis on operational risk, controls and consistent service standards.
In This Role, The Key Responsibilities Are As Below
- Handle counter-based customer enquiries on trade transactions including status updates and document delivery queries
- Receive trade instructions and manage document/application intake at the counters with accurate checks and controls
- Release documents once settled after verifying collection authority is in line with system and procedure requirements
- Send original customer requests and documents for scanning and complete branch scanning where scanners are installed
- Release Export DCs to customers in line with laid down procedures and follow up on collections, returns and uncollected items
- Complete monthly balancing of physical import documents held at the branch counter within stipulated timelines
- Maintain daily filing standards including correct placement of documents and review pending folders regularly
- Escalate exceptions and any items pending collection beyond two days to the manager and follow established escalation points
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bring proven knowledge and hands-on experience in trade products, procedures and customer service
- Apply strong communication and influencing skills when resolving customer queries and explaining trade products
- Manage multiple tasks with accuracy, prioritizing service quality, productivity and attention to detail
- Use established protocols to complete vetting and scanning in line with procedures and standards
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to meet service timelines
- Operate effectively with independence when needed while partnering closely with the wider team and manager for issue resolution
- Communicate clearly in spoken and written English and use additional relevant languages where required
- Follow Anti Money Laundering requirements and maintain HSBC regulatory and internal control standards
