Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Al-Najaf. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining medical equipment to ensure safe and effective operation in clinical settings. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs, and documenting all service activities according to internal procedures and regulatory requirements. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to assess equipment performance, provide user support and training, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency. The Biomedical Engineer will also assist in evaluating new technologies, supporting equipment procurement, and contributing to compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
Qualifications
* Candidates should possess strong skills in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in healthcare environments.
* Candidates should possess skills in Medical Equipment management and Equipment Maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and performance verification.
* Candidates should possess experience in Preventive Maintenance, including scheduling, documentation, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.
* Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
* Knowledge of hospital workflows, medical device safety standards, and relevant regulations.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with clinical and technical staff on-site in Al-Najaf.
* Prior experience in a hospital or clinical engineering department is beneficial.
