NNC is looking for an Arabic Copywriter – Social & Creative who can turn strategy, culture and human insight into words people actually want to read, watch, remember and share.
This is not a translation role.
We are looking for someone who thinks and creates in Arabic, understands social behavior, knows how stories hold attention and can turn a strong insight into an original idea.
You will work closely with Art Directors, designers, strategists, social teams, production and account management across social media, campaigns, films, events and integrated creative work.
You will also be expected to use AI for research, exploration and refinement—without allowing it to replace originality, linguistic judgment or cultural understanding.
What You'll DoArabic-First Creative Copywriting
- * Develop original Arabic concepts, campaign ideas, headlines, taglines and messaging.
- Write captions, scripts, short-form video copy, digital ads and campaign content.
- Create in Arabic rather than treating Arabic as a translation layer.
- Turn strategic briefs into clear, relevant and memorable creative ideas.
- Explore multiple directions and write copy that works with the visual idea.
- Adapt structure, tone and length to different audiences and platforms.
Insight-Led Creative Thinking Understand that strong campaigns begin with a human, cultural, behavioral or brand insight, not merely a reference or trend.
* Distinguish between an insight, observation, idea, execution and reference.
* Research audience behavior, tensions and motivations before developing concepts.
* Turn meaningful insights into creative territories and campaign ideas.
* Use references to sharpen execution, not replace original thinking.
* Explain the connection between insight → idea → execution*.
Storytelling, Hooks & Retention Build strong social story arcs, not just attention-grabbing opening lines.
* Develop hooks that are relevant to the idea and audience rather than relying on formulas.
* Structure short-form stories with progression, tension, curiosity and payoff.
* Write with hold rate, watch time and retention* in mind.
* Know what to reveal, what to delay and how to create curiosity without misleading the audience.
* Work with Art Directors, editors and social teams so copy, visuals and pacing reinforce one another.
Social-First Writing
- * Understand how writing changes across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, X and LinkedIn.
- Write platform-native hooks, captions and scripts.
- Understand pacing and storytelling in short-form video.
- Contribute ideas based on culture and trends without blindly following them.
- Write for the platform, not just the content calendar.
Performance & Creative Optimization Understand metrics including hold rate, retention, average watch time, completion rate, engagement, shares, saves, clicks and reach*.
* Use performance data to understand what is working and improve future copy and scripts.
* Analyse audience drop-off and identify potential weaknesses in hooks, pacing or story structure.
* Compare performance across different topics, formats and storytelling approaches.
* Develop hypotheses and test improvements through future content.
* Balance creative instinct with evidence.
Live Events & Real-Time Coverage
- * Write fast, accurate and on-brand Arabic content during events, conferences, launches and activations.
- Turn speeches, quotes and announcements into concise social copy.
- Adapt quickly when schedules, speakers or event moments change.
- Work closely with social, production and account teams on-site.
- Maintain quality under pressure.
- Prioritise speed without compromising names, titles, quotes or factual accuracy.
Arabic Language & Cultural Craft Write excellent Modern Standard Arabic*.
* Understand GCC and regional language nuances.
* Adapt naturally between formal, conversational and culturally appropriate Arabic.
* Understand when dialect is appropriate.
* Recognise Arabic that feels translated or culturally disconnected.
* Maintain excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Understand UAE and GCC cultural references and sensitivities.
Adaptation & English-to-Arabic WorkWhen adaptation is required:
- Protect the idea, not the English sentence structure.
- Understand the intent and emotional effect of the original.
- Recreate that effect naturally in Arabic.
- Challenge English constructions that do not work culturally or linguistically.
- Produce Arabic that feels as though it was originally written in Arabic.
Literal translation is not considered strong copywriting.
Scripts & Brand Voice
- * Write scripts for Reels, TikTok, films, interviews and voiceovers.
- Understand structure, pacing, hooks and payoff.
- Write dialogue that sounds human when spoken.
- Protect the tone of voice of multiple brands.
- Shift confidently between government, cultural, youth, corporate, premium and consumer brands.
Research, Accuracy & Quality
- * Research subjects properly before writing.
- Understand the client, audience and communication objective.
- Verify names, dates, numbers, quotations and factual claims.
- Use credible sources.
- Proofread your work carefully.
- Review final artwork for Arabic copy, line breaks, RTL issues and readability.
- Never sacrifice accuracy for a clever line.
AI & Emerging Technology Use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or comparable platforms* for research, idea exploration, synthesis and refinement.
* Write effective prompts with clear context, audience and constraints.
* Iterate rather than accepting first outputs.
* Recognise generic, unnatural or incorrect AI-generated Arabic.
* Rewrite AI output until it meets professional creative standards.
* Verify facts independently and protect client confidentiality.
* Know when AI is useful—and when writing from scratch is better.
AI can accelerate exploration. It cannot replace taste, originality or command of Arabic.

What Success Looks LikeYou don't translate English copy—you understand the idea and make it work in Arabic.
You don't start with references—you start with the audience and the insight.
You don't just write hooks—you build stories worth staying for.
You understand that a strong first three seconds mean little if the audience leaves five seconds later.
You study hold rate, retention and watch time and use them to improve your next script.
You understand the brief before you start writing.
You know when to challenge, simplify or start again.
You can write accurately under pressure during live events.
You use AI to explore more possibilities, not to outsource your thinking.
Your Art Director trusts your ideas. Your Account Manager trusts your accuracy.
And your Arabic feels intentional, contemporary and written for the people who will actually read it.
