Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
- Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
- Performs continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies. May conduct quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
- Works with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, etc., to assemble and install parts and assemblies in accordance with quality requirements.
- Completes required data-gathering transactions to facilitate assembly progression.
- Sets up and performs all manual and automated assembly operations and portable machine functions required to accomplish assignments.
- Performs any and all required pickup, rework, fabrication, corrections, functional testing, or checks during or after final assembly and/or assembly progression.
- Moves and/or obtains the correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, etc.
- Uses precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments.
- Reports and/or investigates job handicaps such as errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
- Performs routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily work duties (e.g., where applicable, replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc., as related to basic Total Preventive Maintenance duties).
- Routinely moves product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across aisles, using shop-assigned equipment as required, and completes transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, moves product to the next operation within a building.
- Supports the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching, and assisting other employees.
- Documents any discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures.
- Trains to become MVP qualified.
- In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by leadership. Training and certification will be provided for the additional work when required.
Experience
Tier 1: 2–4 years of experience
Skills
Required
- Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean-as-you-go / Foreign Object Debris), and OSHA regulations.
- Must have basic skills in using a variety of tools.
Communication Skills
Required
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
Technical Systems Proficiency
Required
- Ability to enter, generate, and retrieve information using a computer. SAP and Excel knowledge required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in aviation production or equivalent.
- Previous experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools.
- Must be able and willing to work any shift, including overtime as needed.
Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in aviation production.

Education
Required
- High School Diploma/GED or completion of the WorkKeys Assessment.

Preferred
- Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and application techniques.
