About DocX Engine
DocX Engine is building private document intelligence for invoices and supplier quotations. Our self-hosted AI extracts, validates and keeps results traceable to the source document, so finance and procurement teams can review trusted data before export.
The role
We are looking for a practical AI & Python Engineer to help build the core of our product. This is a full-time remote role for candidates based in Jordan.
What you will do
• Build and improve Python services, APIs and document-processing workflows.
• Integrate and evaluate AI/ML components for extraction, validation and review.
• Design reliable data pipelines, tests and observability for real business documents.
• Work directly with the product team on customer use cases and technical decisions.
• Improve reliability, performance and secure operation of the platform.
What we are looking for
• Strong Python fundamentals and experience building backend services or APIs.
• Practical experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, Git, testing and debugging.
• Interest in document AI, OCR, LLMs, workflow automation or data extraction.
• Clear communication, ownership and the ability to work in an early-stage product environment.
• A degree is welcome, but strong practical work and a portfolio can substitute.
Nice to have
• Docker/Linux, REST APIs, background jobs, message queues or deployment experience.
• Experience with evaluation datasets, human-in-the-loop workflows or enterprise automation.
