Your role in our story...
The AI Lead sets the direction for Prezlab's AI department and leads its architects in delivering on it. The role spans three fronts: building internal automations that make other departments more efficient, developing external, AI-powered products and services, and keeping existing AI systems reliable and secure over time.
The ideal candidate is as comfortable managing people and roadmaps as they are writing code and evaluating new tools. They stay ahead of the AI landscape, treat security and data governance as a first-order concern rather than an afterthought, and move easily between technical detail and executive-level communication.
What You'll Do...
- Own the AI department's roadmap, translating company priorities into a clear plan for internal and external AI initiatives.
- Lead external AI products end to end, from development to go-to-market positioning, marketing support, and business development to grow adoption and revenue.
- Manage and develop the department's AI architects, including workload planning, feedback, and career growth.
- Design, build, and ship internal AI-powered automations that improve other departments' workflows.
- Maintain and audit existing AI systems in production, ensuring reliability, performance, and security over time.
- Partner with other technical teams to align AI initiatives with broader company infrastructure and standards.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership on a regular basis.
- Research emerging AI trends, models, and tools, and assess their relevance to Prezlab's work.
- Track competitor AI offerings and market positioning to inform department strategy.
- Identify bottlenecks in creative and operational workflows and propose data-driven, AI-enabled solutions.
- Set security and data governance practices for AI tools and systems, including access control and responsible handling of client data.
Who You Are...
- Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in AI or software development, with hands-on programming and technical build experience.
- Prior experience managing or leading a team preferred.
- Proven experience in technical research, tool evaluation, and end-to-end product development.
- Expert, current knowledge of emerging AI tools, models, and platforms (LLMs, agentic frameworks, automation tooling).
- Working knowledge of AI security, data privacy, and governance practices.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical work for both technical teams and non-technical, senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with creative, design, and business teams.
