IM Acceleration Head - Abu Dhabi
A newly established UAE federal entity is seeking an experienced IM Acceleration Head to lead the implementation and acceleration of strategic healthcare initiatives across the UAE.
Reporting to the Secretary General, this is a senior, hands-on role responsible for translating strategic priorities into executable programmes, coordinating complex stakeholder groups and ensuring key initiatives progress against agreed milestones, outcomes and Council priorities.
The successful candidate will operate across a broad healthcare ecosystem, working closely with government entities, healthcare authorities, providers, academic institutions, scientific experts and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning, coordination and execution of priority healthcare initiatives and programmes.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear implementation plans, milestones, workstreams and delivery requirements.
- Establish and lead working groups, taskforces, consultations and stakeholder forums.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across government, healthcare, academia, providers and the wider healthcare ecosystem.
- Identify implementation risks, dependencies and delivery barriers and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
- Monitor programme milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Lead consultations with senior stakeholders to gather input, validate direction and maintain alignment.
- Support the development of healthcare-related policies, frameworks, standards and implementation approaches.
- Coordinate with strategy, communications and other internal teams to ensure initiatives remain aligned with strategic objectives and KPIs.
- Provide clear progress updates, recommendations and decision materials to senior leadership.
- Support knowledge transfer, documentation of best practices and continuous improvement across programmes.
- Lead and develop the IM Acceleration Specialist as the function continues to grow.
Candidate requirements:
- Significant senior-level experience across healthcare programme delivery, transformation, implementation or consulting, ideally with 15+ years of overall experience.
- Strong healthcare sector experience is essential; candidates should ideally have spent at least several years directly within the healthcare ecosystem.
- Proven experience leading complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, working groups, taskforces or national-level initiatives.
- Experience working with healthcare regulators, government entities, health authorities, providers, research institutions or similar ecosystem stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of healthcare policy, regulation, frameworks and implementation.
- Experience developing or implementing policies, standards, mandates, frameworks or regulatory initiatives would be highly advantageous.
- Exposure to organisations such as DHA, Department of Health Abu Dhabi, MOHAP or comparable healthcare authorities would be highly relevant.
- Ability to work effectively with clinicians, researchers, scientific experts and senior government stakeholders.
- International healthcare exposure would be advantageous.
- Background in healthcare, medicine, science, public health or healthcare consulting would be highly regarded.
- Excellent programme management, stakeholder management and change-management capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare senior-level reports, presentations and decision materials.
- Arabic and English language capability is strongly preferred.
