Mechanical Technical Office EngineerJob Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Technical Office Engineer to join our team in a construction and contracting company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling mechanical technical office activities for construction projects, including reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing shop drawings and technical submittals, coordinating with other disciplines, supporting site teams, and ensuring that mechanical works comply with project requirements and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities Review and study mechanical drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and project documents.
* Prepare and review Mechanical Shop Drawings and ensure compliance with approved design and project requirements.
* Prepare and review As-Built Drawings based on actual site execution.
* Prepare Material Submittals and coordinate with consultants for technical approvals.
* Prepare and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) and technical queries.
* Review mechanical designs and coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Architectural, and other MEP disciplines.
* Prepare Quantity Take-Offs and support BOQ preparation and quantity verification.
* Review project specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
* Prepare and review Method Statements* and technical documentation.
* Review subcontractors' and suppliers' technical submissions and ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Coordinate with site engineers to resolve technical issues and provide the required technical support.
* Follow up on consultant comments and ensure the required revisions are completed.
* Prepare technical comparisons and support the evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors when required.
* Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Maintain proper records of drawings, material submittals, approvals, RFIs, and other technical documents.
* Participate in technical meetings and provide the required technical support.
* Conduct site visits when required to verify actual site conditions and coordinate technical requirements.
* Comply with the company's quality, health & safety, and environmental procedures.
* Perform other technical assignments within the scope of the department as required.
Mechanical SystemsExperience in one or more of the following mechanical systems is preferred:
- HVAC Systems
- Fire Fighting Systems
- Plumbing Systems
- Mechanical Equipment
- Water Supply & Drainage Systems
- Other MEP mechanical systems related to construction projects
Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* [X–X] years of experience in Mechanical Technical Office within construction or contracting companies.
* Previous experience working on MEP / construction projects is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and construction practices.
* Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
* Experience with Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, BOQs, Quantity Take-Offs, RFIs, and As-Built Drawings*.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
* Good understanding of construction methods and coordination between different disciplines.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with Revit MEP / BIM is an advantage.
* Knowledge of relevant mechanical codes and standards.
* Experience working with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
* Experience in large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure, or mixed-use projects*.

Work EnvironmentThe position will be based within a construction and contracting environment, with coordination between the technical office, project sites, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
