We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Energy Engineer (Electrical Stream) to join our technical team. In this role, you will lead hands-on electrical assessments, solar PV simulation and design, and comprehensive energy audits across commercial and industrial facilities in Jordan. If you are an engineer who thrives both in running detailed technical simulations in the office and conducting rigorous on-site measurements in the field, this role offers direct involvement in impactful clean energy and decarbonization projects.Key Responsibilities1. Solar PV Design & Performance ModelingPerform end-to-end solar PV system design, string sizing, and yield simulations using PVsyst.
- Prepare detailed single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, equipment specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Ensure system designs comply with local distribution grid codes (EMRC, JEPCO, EDCO, IDECO) and relevant IEC/NEC standards.
-
- Energy Audits & Facility AssessmentsConduct on-site walkthrough and detailed energy audits following recognized frameworks (e.g., ASHRAE Level 2 / ISO 50002).
- Deploy field instrumentation (three-phase power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, data loggers, lux meters) to establish facility baseline consumption.
- Analyze energy balance data, calculate energy conservation measures (ECMs), and prepare bankable technical audit reports with CAPEX, OPEX, and simple payback projections.
-
- Electrical Infrastructure & Safety AssessmentsInspect main distribution boards (MDBs), sub-distribution boards (SMDBs), circuit breakers, cable capacities, and switchgear for adequacy and safety.
- Evaluate earthing/grounding systems, lightning protection, and power quality (power factor, harmonic distortion, load balance across phases).
- Identify electrical hazards, code deviations, and operational bottlenecks, delivering actionable remediation plans.
- Candidate Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy / Electrical Engineering stream, or Power Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Registration: Active, official registration with the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) under the Electrical Engineering Division (شعبة الهندسة الكهربائية) — Mandatory.
- Experience: 2 to 3+ years of direct engineering experience covering solar PV design, facility electrical assessments, and energy auditing.
- Software Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in PVsyst (loss tree modeling, shading scenes, meteorological data imports).
- Working proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical calculation spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with Jordanian electricity regulations, tariff structures (time-of-use), and net-metering / net-billing mechanisms.
- Language & Communication: Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English, with proven ability to draft clear, executive-ready technical reports.
- Logistics: Valid Jordanian driving license and willingness to conduct site visits across Jordan as required.
