Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tendering & Procurement Engineer role based in Giza. The role involves reviewing and analyzing tender documents, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids. The Tendering & Procurement Engineer will source and evaluate suppliers, request and compare quotations, negotiate prices and terms, and prepare purchase orders in line with project requirements. Daily tasks include maintaining tender and procurement records, tracking material delivery schedules, ensuring compliance with company policies and project specifications, and supporting project teams with cost and material information. The role also requires regular communication with vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth tendering and procurement processes.
Qualifications
- Strong tendering and estimating skills, including the ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities, and prepare accurate technical and commercial offers.
- Proficiency in procurement and supply chain activities such as supplier sourcing, vendor evaluation, price negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Solid understanding of construction and contracting practices, project execution workflows, and materials used in building and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to use relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, Excel, procurement or ERP systems, and basic estimation tools) to manage tenders and procurement data.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with capacity to coordinate across engineering, finance, and site teams and maintain professional vendor relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field) or an equivalent technical discipline; prior experience in tendering and procurement within construction is highly desirable.
