Role DescriptionThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from initial requirements through completion. The role ensures that project objectives, deliverables, resources, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are clearly defined and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
The position works closely with internal teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to establish project priorities, clarify requirements, coordinate activities, and maintain clear communication. The Project Manager serves as a central point of coordination, ensuring that different teams remain aligned and that project activities progress in a structured and organized manner.
Key responsibilities include developing project plans, defining milestones, establishing schedules, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and maintaining project documentation. The role monitors deliverables and dependencies while identifying potential delays, resource constraints, scope changes, and other issues that may affect project outcomes.
The Project Manager is also responsible for maintaining effective communication across project teams. This includes organizing meetings, preparing status updates, documenting decisions, following up on action items, and ensuring that stakeholders have clear visibility into project progress and priorities.
Risk and issue management are important aspects of the role. The position identifies potential project risks, evaluates their potential impact, and coordinates appropriate mitigation or corrective actions. When issues arise, the Project Manager works with relevant stakeholders to determine practical solutions and maintain project momentum.
The role also supports budget and resource coordination by monitoring project costs, resource requirements, procurement activities, and external service providers where applicable. The Project Manager helps ensure that resources are used effectively and that project activities remain aligned with approved requirements.
Quality management is another key responsibility. The position reviews project deliverables, tracks agreed standards, coordinates approvals, and ensures that completed work meets defined requirements. The Project Manager may also establish checkpoints and review processes to identify issues before final delivery.
The role supports project changes by evaluating new requirements, assessing their impact on scope, schedule, resources, and costs, and coordinating appropriate approvals. Clear documentation of changes and decisions is maintained to ensure transparency throughout the project.
The Project Manager may use project management platforms, collaboration tools, reporting systems, spreadsheets, and dashboards to organize information and monitor performance. Strong documentation and reporting practices help provide accurate visibility into project status.
The position also contributes to process improvement by reviewing project outcomes, identifying recurring challenges, documenting lessons learned, and recommending improvements to project planning and delivery processes.
Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
* Strong understanding of project management principles, planning processes, scheduling, resource coordination, and project delivery.
* Ability to develop structured project plans, milestones, schedules, task assignments, and delivery timelines.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
* Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
* Ability to monitor project progress, dependencies, deliverables, deadlines, budgets, and resource requirements.
* Strong risk and issue management capabilities with a practical approach to identifying and addressing project challenges.
* Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain effective communication between different stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare project reports, presentations, meeting notes, and status updates.
* Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project requirements, changes, risks, and decisions clearly.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to project details and dependencies.
* Ability to support budget tracking, procurement coordination, resource planning, and vendor management where required.
* Understanding of quality control, project governance, change management, and documentation practices.
* Ability to evaluate project changes and coordinate appropriate approvals and implementation activities.
* Strong negotiation, coordination, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
* Flexible and organized approach when managing changing priorities and project requirements.
* Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or Agile/Scrum credentials are welcomed but not mandatory.
