Role Description The Outpatient Pharmacist will provide safe and effective pharmaceutical care to patients in the outpatient setting at Andalusia Hospital - مستشفى أندلسية in Cairo, Egypt. This full-time, on-site role involves dispensing prescriptions accurately, reviewing medication orders, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, local regulations, and professional standards. The pharmacist will counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions, and will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment plans. Daily tasks include verifying prescriptions, managing medication inventory, handling insurance-related queries, documenting interventions, and maintaining accurate patient records. The role also involves contributing to quality improvement initiatives, patient education programs, and promoting rational use of medications within the hospital.

- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and standard treatment guidelines for outpatient care.
- Ability to accurately dispense, review, and verify prescriptions while ensuring medication safety and adherence to regulations.
- Competence in patient counseling, clear communication, and providing education on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy information systems, electronic health records, and basic computer applications.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage workload in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills for working effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or PharmD) from an accredited institution; valid pharmacist license/registration in Egypt.
- Previous experience in outpatient or hospital pharmacy practice is preferred.
- Knowledge of local healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and controlled substances management is an advantage.
