Edison Led Lighting is looking for a Lighting Designer.
The position requires a balanced combination of technical design capability and professional competencies. Responsibilities include delivery of core design activities such as photometric design and analysis, lighting controls and BMS integration, façade and landscape lighting, energy efficient and sustainable design solutions, and luminaire specification. The role also requires effective client engagement, clear communication and presentation of design intent.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead lighting design concepts from early schematic stage through to construction documentation and site completion.
- Prepare detailed photometric calculations, lighting layouts, luminaire schedules, dimming control schematics, and specifications using DIALux Evo.
- Select and specify architectural luminaires, custom fittings, and decorative light art pieces in close collaboration with interior designers and project team.
- Prepare lighting mood boards, rendered visualisations, and design narratives for client presentations and design development approvals.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and joinery contractors on recessed, integrated, and concealed lighting details.
Client & Project Delivery
- Act as the primary lighting consultant point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage lighting design deliverables to program and budget, coordinating with multi-discipline project teams.
- Support business development through technical proposals, client presentations, and attendance at project interviews.
- Mentor junior lighting designers and contribute to practice quality standards and luminaire library development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design (with strong technical lighting component).
- Minimum 2 -5 years of dedicated lighting design experience, with at least 2 years on projects in the Middle East or Gulf region.
- Experience with luxury hospitality or high-end residential projects is a strong advantage.
