DB-El Sewedy Railway Operation Egypt (DBEE) is a joint venture between DB International Operations and Elsewedy Electric, combining international railway operations and maintenance expertise with strong local capabilities in infrastructure and engineering.
DBEE is delivering Egypt’s first High-Speed Rail service, creating a landmark project that will contribute to the future of safe, efficient, and sustainable passenger and freight transportation across Egypt.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Immigration Specialist – Expatriate Affairs to manage the end-to-end immigration and work authorization processes for expatriate employees and international personnel working on the project.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that all visas, work permits, residency permits, government registrations, security clearances, renewals, and related immigration requirements are completed accurately and on time, while maintaining close coordination with Egyptian government authorities, employees, managers, embassies, and external immigration service providers.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage the complete immigration lifecycle for expatriate employees, from initial entry into Egypt through work authorization, residency, renewals, transfers, and exit.
- Process and follow up on work permits, work authorizations, entry visas, residency permits, and other immigration documents.
- Prepare, review, and submit immigration applications and supporting documents to the relevant Egyptian government authorities and immigration offices.
- Maintain continuous follow-up with government authorities to ensure timely processing, approvals, renewals, and resolution of pending cases.
- Coordinate security clearances, medical examinations, government appointments, document legalization, and other mandatory immigration requirements.
- Monitor the validity of passports, visas, work permits, and residency permits and ensure timely renewals before expiration.
- Act as the main immigration contact for expatriate employees, managers, government authorities, embassies, and external immigration providers.
- Support the mobilization, onboarding, relocation, transfer, and repatriation of expatriate employees.
- Maintain accurate immigration databases, trackers, case files, and reports, ensuring all documentation is complete, confidential, and up to date.
- Identify immigration risks, delays, and compliance issues and take proactive action to resolve them and ensure uninterrupted legal employment and residency status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in immigration and expatriate affairs.
- Proven experience managing Egyptian work permits, residency permits, visas, work authorizations, and government registrations for expatriate employees.
- Strong practical knowledge of Egyptian immigration and work authorization procedures.
- Proven experience dealing directly with Egyptian immigration authorities, government offices, ministries, embassies, or external immigration service providers.
- Experience managing immigration cases for multiple expatriate employees and different nationalities.
- Strong experience with immigration renewals, expiry tracking, documentation, and case follow-up.
- Experience in relocation, international mobility, or expatriate onboarding is an advantage.
- Experience within railway, construction, engineering, infrastructure, oil & gas, or other large project environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong follow-up and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent Arabic and English, written and spoken.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced international project environment.
