We are currently looking for a well-versed Head of Supply Chain - FMCG to join our team.
The ideal candidate should be capable of managing and leading key responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
- Set the supply chain direction and priorities for the FMCG business, in line with commercial plans, service needs and financial targets.
- Lead the development and rollout of common supply chain processes and standards across markets, working closely with country management and local teams.
- Review supply chain costs, service levels and capacity across countries. Identify opportunities to share resources, improve the distribution network and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Lead improvement projects across the supply chain, from identifying the opportunity and building the business case to implementation and measuring results.
- Lead demand forecasting, supply planning and replenishment, taking into account sales plans, promotions, seasonality and new product launches.
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process with Sales, Marketing, Finance and country teams to align demand, supply, stock and budgets.
- Set stock levels and replenishment rules that balance product availability, shelf life and working capital.
- Oversee owned and outsourced warehouses, order handling, storage and distribution to ensure reliable service and efficient operations.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including international freight, imports, customs clearance, transport providers and delivery routing.
- Lead the selection and rollout of WMS and other supply chain systems, potential ERP, transport and planning tools, working with IT and country teams.
- Prepare and manage supply chain budgets. Control warehouse, freight, transport and other operating costs while protecting service levels.
- Lead and develop the team directly reporting to this role. Work with country supply chain leads to agree functional priorities, review performance, share good practices and build skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in supply chain, with strong experience in FMCG distribution and senior operational leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field. MBA or master’s in supply chain is a plus.
- Experience working across several markets and influencing country teams in a matrix organization. Proven results in owned and outsourced operations, service and cost.
- Experience leading a WMS or similar system rollout is required. Manufacturing supply planning experience is an advantage. Relevant university degree; a postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic; French is a plus.
- Proven experience leading a WMS or similar major supply chain system rollout, with good knowledge of ERP, reporting and data analysis.
