Join our TeamAbout The RoleThe Group Legal Counsel role sits within the Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance (GFLA) organization and reports to the Head of Legal: West and Southern Africa and MMEA Corporate Affairs.
You will collaborate with a global network of legal professionals and subject matter experts to support Ericsson’s business operations and innovation initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
What You'll Do:
- * Serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior business leaders, providing strategic legal guidance that supports commercial objectives and responsible business practices
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, and strategic partnership arrangements
- Provide legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, competition law, data protection, and intellectual property matters
- Support high-value transactions and strategic initiatives, ensuring that legal risks are identified and mitigated while enabling business growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across sales, sourcing, engineering, and product development to support commercial and technology initiatives
- Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments affecting the telecommunications and technology industries
- Provide legal guidance related to sanctions, trade compliance, and international regulatory frameworks
- Assist in managing disputes, investigations, and litigation matters where necessary
- Deliver legal training and guidance to business teams to increase awareness of legal and compliance requirements
- Contribute to the development of legal policies, processes, and frameworks that support Ericsson’s global legal strategy
- Collaborate with colleagues across Legal Affairs, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and other Group Functions
You will bring:
- * Master of Law (LL.M., JD, or equivalent legal qualification)
- Qualification to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction
- 7 – 10+ years of legal experience, preferably within a multinational corporation or leading law firm
- Strong expertise in commercial contracts, regulatory matters, and corporate governance
- Experience in the telecommunications, technology, software, or digital infrastructure sectors is highly desirable
- Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical, commercially oriented legal advice
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Strategic thinking and the ability to manage complex legal matters independently
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- High ethical standards and commitment to integrity
- Fluency in French and Arabic required; English proficiency required.
- Willingness to travel as required
