GPU Infrastructure Lead | Europe Remote | £120,000-£200,000 + Equity
TechShack are working with a well-funded start-up building pricing, trading and settlement infrastructure for the GPU compute market, backed by a significant recent raise.
GPU is the fastest-growing industrial input in the world, and almost none of it can be hedged, financed or traded properly. They're fixing that.
This is the first senior infrastructure hire. Physically settled compute futures only work if someone can guarantee a cluster is genuinely up to contract spec. You'll be that function, and you'll automate it.
What you'll work on:
- Building automated validation and certification for GPU clusters: benchmarks, interconnect testing (NCCL, InfiniBand/RoCE), thermal and power verification, SLA monitoring.
- Automating health checks and acceptance testing so certification scales without headcount scaling with it.
- Defining what "deliverable compute" means, covering node configs, topologies and cooling envelopes. These standards become the delivery specs behind exchange-traded contracts.
- Technical due diligence on capacity providers and proposed build-outs, feeding into pricing and contract specs.
Core requirements:
- Currently at a recognised neocloud or inference cloud
- Hands-on validation and deployment across multiple GPU generations (B300, B200, GB200, H200), not just building monitoring software for them.
- Experience at both ends of the scale: a handful of nodes and thousands of GPUs, air and liquid cooled.
- Strong automation background: infrastructure-as-code, monitoring stacks, automated acceptance and regression testing.
- Deep NVIDIA stack familiarity: HGX, NVLink/NVSwitch, NCCL tuning, CUDA-level debugging.
- Technical leadership, able to own a function and be the person hard problems route to.
Bonus requirements:
- Direct liquid cooling (DLC) deployment experience.
- MLPerf or custom acceptance suites, or SRE practice at scale.
- Crypto-to-AI conversions, HPC centre or data centre operator background.
- Interest in how physical commodities get standardised and traded.
No direct reports initially. This is technical leadership, with the option to build a team as they grow. Title flexible for the right seniority. London preferred, European time zones considered.
