About The Role

As the Tech Lead for Zulu, you will own the technical foundation of the platform —

ensuring that our patient app, integrations, and healthcare infrastructure work reliably,

scale effectively and evolve into a long-term internal system.

Zulu is not a simple mobile app. It is a healthcare platform integrating with external

systems (IQVIA, Health plug, payments, notifications) and orchestrating complex user

flows such as appointments, records, and multi-profile care.

You will act as the technical owner across systems, working closely with our development

partner today, while defining and building the internal engineering function for tomorrow.

Responsabilities:

· Own the technical architecture across the Zulu platform (patient app, Healthplug,

and integrations)

· Ensure the system is reliable, scalable, and consistent across all workflows

· Define and enforce data models and system structure (patient records, history,

files)

· Design and enforce integration patterns (retries, idempotency, error handling)

· Review and challenge development partner decisions and implementations

· Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and scaling issues

· Validate end-to-end system behavior across critical flows

· Work closely with Product to ensure correct and feasible implementation

· Define and execute the transition from outsourced development to an internal engineering team

· Hire and build an internal engineering team.

Requirements:

• Strong backend and systems experience (APIs, integrations, distributed systems)

• 5+ years of experience building or owning production systems with external

dependencies

• Ability to audit and improve external development work

• Strong understanding of data modeling, API design, and system reliability

• High ownership and execution mindset

• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making pragmatic technical tradeoffs
