Role Description The Fundraising Specialist for SEKEM’s agricultural NGO will focus on securing financial support for programs that advance biodynamic and organic agriculture, education, and community development. This full-time, on-site role in Cairo, Egypt involves identifying and researching funding opportunities from local and international donors, foundations, corporations, and public institutions. The Fundraising Specialist will develop compelling proposals, grant applications, and donor communications that align with SEKEM’s mission and program needs. Day-to-day tasks include managing donor relationships, preparing reports and impact summaries, coordinating fundraising campaigns and events, and collaborating closely with program, finance, and communications teams to ensure accurate data and narrative consistency. The role also includes maintaining fundraising databases, tracking deadlines and deliverables, and contributing to the long-term fundraising strategy of the NGO branch.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in proposal writing, grant writing, and donor communication, with the ability to present complex agricultural and social development concepts clearly.
- Experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, or development work within NGOs, foundations, or impact-driven organizations, preferably in agriculture or rural development.
- Ability to conduct thorough research on funding sources, donor priorities, and sector trends, and to translate findings into targeted fundraising strategies.
- Competence in project planning, budgeting, and monitoring, including coordination with program and finance teams to align narratives with data and indicators.
- Proficiency in maintaining CRM or fundraising databases, tracking grant cycles, and preparing timely progress and impact reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Arabic is highly beneficial.
