Role Description The Foreign Purchasing and Import Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt. The specialist will manage end-to-end foreign purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, and negotiating prices and terms. Day-to-day duties include preparing and issuing purchase orders, coordinating shipment and logistics, and ensuring proper documentation for customs and import procedures. The role involves monitoring order status, resolving discrepancies, tracking inventory levels related to imported goods, and collaborating with internal departments to meet demand and delivery timelines. The specialist will also analyze purchasing data, optimize supplier performance, and support compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- * Strong understanding of purchasing processes and purchasing best practices, particularly in international trade.
- Experience in purchase management, including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to prepare, review, and manage purchase orders and related documentation with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in purchasing activities supported by solid analytical skills for cost, terms, and supplier evaluation.
- Knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping and logistics.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant ERP or procurement systems.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Very good command of English; additional languages are an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field; purchasing or import certifications are a plus.
