POPCORN is an AI studio built for filmmakers, post-production houses and agencies. Our users are directors, editors, VFX and post artists, and AI-film makers, and a lot of them live on Discord. We are building the home for that community, and we need the person who runs it.
You will own our Discord — and the people in it.
You will be the first face of POPCORN for the creators who use it every day: welcoming them, answering them, learning what they are making, and carrying what you hear back to the team that builds the product.
What the work looks like:
- Run the POPCORN Discord end to end — structure, roles, channels, bots, onboarding, events and moderation
- Give users fast, clear, kind support in Arabic and English, and know when a case needs an engineer
- Spot what creators are making and asking for, and turn it into feedback the product team can act on
- Host showcases, challenges and sessions that make people want to come back
- Grow the wider AI creator community in Egypt — meetups, online sessions and partnerships with creators and communities who build with AI
- Keep the community safe: you will see user-generated content, including faces, and you will apply our moderation and consent rules with good judgement
- Work with the team on social content — you bring the community's taste and voice
What we are looking for
- You live on Discord. You know how a great server feels and you can build one — roles, permissions, bots, forums, events, moderation tools
- You are good with people who are stuck or frustrated. You stay patient, ask for the right details, and make someone feel looked after
- Clear writing in Arabic and English. Support happens in text
- Good judgement under pressure. You know when to calm a thread down, when to remove a post, and when to ask for help
- You care about filmmakers and creators. Editors, post artists, gamers, AI-film makers — you already understand how they talk and what they respect
What will make you stand out
- You have run or helped run a Discord community of real size
- You have worked in film, editing or post-production, or used AI creative tools yourself
- You have organised community events or meetups
- You have worked in customer support, even informally
How we work
You will work directly with the founders and the product team, with a clear line to engineering for anything that needs fixing. Our product ships in English and Arabic, and we use AI tools throughout our own work — you are welcome to do the same.
How we hire
- A friendly 30-minute conversation
- A short practical exercise: a few realistic support messages to answer, and a Discord server to review
- A paid trial week running a small part of the community
