Description
The College of Interdisciplinary Studies (CIS) invites applications for full-time faculty positions in Economics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, in the Department of Business Transformation (BT), starting August 2027. Positions are available in two distinct areas: applied microeconomics and applied macroeconomics. Applicants should indicate in their cover letter which position they wish to be considered for. Zayed University offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
For positions in applied microeconomics, we seek candidates with a strong command of causal identification methods, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs), quasi-experimental designs, and modern econometric approaches to causal inference, with an active research agenda in one or more of the following fields: political economy, labor economics, public economics, environmental economics, or network economics. For positions in applied macroeconomics, we seek candidates with expertise in modern empirical macroeconomic methods; an interest in monetary and fiscal policy, financial economics, or the use of microeconomic data would be a plus. Candidates should demonstrate a record of, or clear potential for, high-quality publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and the capacity to attract external research funding. Successful candidates will also have a proven record of excellence in teaching economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. CIS follows an active learning pedagogy and faculty are expected to engage students in creative thinking, foster critical thinking and mentor them in their academic and professional development. Faculty are expected to maintain a productive research programme, contribute to the department’s research culture and seminar series, participate in curriculum development and service, and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. Courses are taught on-campus and faculty members meet course coordinators regularly to ensure consistent course delivery across sections.
