The Senior Sales Manager – Oil & Gas will be based in Basra and will be responsible for developing and growing the company’s business within the Oil & Gas sector, with a primary focus on diesel generators, power solutions, spare parts, and after-sales services.
The role requires a strong commercial background in the generator and power generation business, together with a solid understanding of the Iraqi market, particularly Basra and Southern Iraq.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the sales and business development strategy for the Oil & Gas sector in Basra and Southern Iraq.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities with International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), EPC contractors, oilfield service companies, refineries, and major subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement, engineering, technical, project, and commercial teams within target customers.
- Identify upcoming projects, tenders, RFQs, and long-term business opportunities at an early stage.
- Promote and sell the company’s diesel generators, power solutions, spare parts, maintenance services, and service contracts.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from opportunity identification and technical/commercial discussions through quotation, negotiation, order award, and customer follow-up.
- Develop new accounts while maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers.
- Coordinate internally with technical, after-sales, logistics, and management teams to ensure customer requirements are properly addressed.
- Follow up on technical specifications, vendor registration, prequalification, tender requirements, and commercial submissions.
- Maintain an updated sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts, market updates, and activity reports.
- Monitor competitors, pricing, market developments, and changing customer requirements within the Oil & Gas and power generation sectors.
- Achieve agreed annual sales, revenue, and business development targets.
- Represent the company professionally with customers, partners, contractors, and other key stakeholders in the market.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of B2B sales and business development experience, preferably within the generator, power generation, Oil & Gas, energy, or industrial equipment sectors.
- Solid and proven experience in the generator business is essential, particularly with diesel generators, power solutions, spare parts, and after-sales services.
- Strong understanding of the Iraqi generator and Oil & Gas market, particularly Basra and Southern Iraq.
- Existing relationships or a strong professional network with IOCs, NOCs, EPC contractors, oilfield service companies, refineries, and major subcontractors in Iraq are highly preferred.
- Proven track record in developing new business, managing key accounts, and closing significant commercial opportunities.
- Good understanding of tenders, RFQs, vendor registration, prequalification, technical specifications, and commercial bidding processes.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and customer relationship management capabilities.
- Fluent English is required; Arabic is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in Iraq, particularly Basra, is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to be based in Basra and travel as required.
