Senior Legal Counsel – Qatar
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house Legal Department in Qatar, with strong expertise in media law, intellectual property, commercial contracts, litigation, international law, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, media, licensing, partnership, and international agreements.
- Advise on intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, content rights, licensing, and media-related matters.
- Manage litigation, disputes, claims, and settlement negotiations, including coordination with external counsel.
- Provide legal advice on international, corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Advise on cross-border transactions and international legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate legal and contractual risks.
- Advise senior management and internal stakeholders on legal matters.
- Manage external legal counsel and support internal legal policies and governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and relevant legal qualification.
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, with mandatory experience within an in-house Legal Department.
- Strong experience in media law, intellectual property, commercial contracts, litigation, and international law.
- Experience within a media, broadcasting, entertainment, technology, or communications organization is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar laws and regulations, with international/GCC legal experience preferred.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken – mandatory.
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
