Position - Senior Internal Auditor
Reporting To - Internal Audit Manager
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
A highly motivated Internal Audit professional with 5-7 years of experience, professional certification or progression towards certification (CIA/CPA/SOCPA/ACCA), strong exposure to the retail sector, and practical experience in risk-based auditing. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, demonstrate proficiency in data analytics, and have prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm. Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred not mandatory, and Saudi nationals are preferred not mandatory.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, SOCPA, ACCA, CA, or progress towards obtaining a professional qualification is preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant Internal Audit experience.
- Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting/advisory firm is highly preferred.
- Experience in the retail sector is preferred, particularly in:
- Fashion Retail
- Multimedia/Retail Technology
- Food & Beverage (F&B)
- Strong understanding of risk-based auditing, internal controls, and corporate governance frameworks.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is preferred not mandatory.
- Saudi nationals are preferred not mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Audit Execution & Delivery
- Execute internal audit engagements in accordance with the approved audit plan and internal audit methodology.
- Participate in audit planning activities, including risk assessments, process walkthroughs, and control identification.
- Conduct audit fieldwork, testing, and documentation of business processes and controls.
- Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare comprehensive and well-supported audit working papers.
- Assist in drafting clear, concise, and actionable audit reports.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.
- Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support remediation tracking and validation of management action plans.
- Assist in identifying emerging business and operational risks.
- Demonstrate professionalism and objectivity when dealing with stakeholders across different levels.
Data Analytics & Technology
- Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to enhance audit coverage and effectiveness.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, control gaps, and potential risks.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on developments in internal auditing standards, risk management practices, and industry trends.
- Support implementation of best practices and process improvements within the Internal Audit function.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with audit team members to deliver high-quality audit engagements.
- Provide support and knowledge sharing to junior team members when required.
- Contribute positively to a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
- Maintain high ethical standards and adherence to professional auditing principles.
