We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrician – Protection & Testing to support the installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical protection systems used in power operations.
The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical protection systems, including protection relays, circuit breakers, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and test electrical protection systems, including relays and other protective devices.
- Perform regular maintenance and testing of protection equipment.
- Investigate electrical faults and support root-cause analysis.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to electrical protection systems.
- Carry out repairs on faulty protection equipment and restore normal operations.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, maintenance activities, repairs, and system configurations.
- Follow approved safety procedures and electrical protection standards.
- Coordinate with protection engineers and other technical teams during testing and maintenance activities.
- Support continuous improvement of protection and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- Technical High School qualification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in electrical protection and testing.
- Strong understanding of protection relays, circuit breakers, and their applications.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Good knowledge of safety procedures related to electrical work and protection systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
